First day of training (Silver and Storm; Open for other apprentices!)

Silverpaw jumped up, it was her first day of training! She shook off all the moss from her nest, stretched and took a great yawn. Silverpaw silently crept through the sleeping cats, she wanted to be early and ready for training. Silverpaw popped out of the apprentices den. She poked her head in the warriors den, "Caribbean?" She whispered. Tons of cats were sleeping and turning in there beds, two were snoring and one looked like he was hunting in his sleep. Silverpaw turned around and then saw Caribbean right in front of her. "Oh, sorry, I thought you were still asleep." She meowed to her new mentor.

The pretty she cat simply smiled at the younger cat, now her apprentice. "It's fine, don't worry about it. Today is the first day!" she meowed enthusiastically yet a little anxiously, hoping not to mess anything up. "Do you want to explore the territory?"

"Of course!" Silverpaw meowed excited. She looked up and saw tree's over the camp, she could start to smell the fresh prey.

"Okay then, let's go!" she meowed and ran out of camp, but at a good speed for the younger cat with her too. She had always wanted an apprentice, and now she had one!

Silverpaw let her paws run free, it was nice to be finally free from being stuck in the camp. The forest looked wonderful! Full of excitement, Silverpaw burst up right next to Caribbean. "Your, Really..Fast!" She meowed to her new mentor as she panted and stumbled on words, it wasn't easy having a conversation in the middle of running!

She skidded to a halt and began to pad normally forwards instead. "Sorry!" she meowed, looking a bit embarrassed. "Now, we're almost at a border.. The ShadowClan border!"

"Shadowclan! Haven't they been crossing our border? I heard about it from the nursery, some apprentices were talking about it when I was a kit." Silverpaw meowed, wondering if Shadowclan crossing borders was a rumor or true.

"Sometimes they do;" she meowed, looking down at the young apprentice. "But not always. Even some ThunderClan cats have crossed borders sometimes!"

"True.." Silverpaw nodded her head. Suddenly she stopped and spotted a small grey creature, scuffling around on the ground. "Caribbean, look!" She whispered.

A mouse; she thought. "It will be good for a first try." she whispered back. "Try and catch it, I want to see your technique."

Silverpaw nodded, she bit her lip hoping she wouldn't make an mistake. She dropped down into the hunting crouch that Caribbean had showed her earlier when she was an kit. She crept forward and wiggled her haunches, ready to jump and kill the mouse. She took a leap into the air and unsheathed her claws, stabbing onto the leaf the mouse was under and grabbed the tail. She peeked under, the mouse was gone and wasn't under the leaf anymore! The tail wasn't a tail, it was the leaf's stem, she went hot with embarrassment.

Caribbean noticed the younger cat's embarrassment, and did her best to make her feel better. "Very few cats have caught prey on tgheir first try;" she meowed. "I'm sure they'll be plenty more times to try again."

Silverpaw nodded, "Okay, Could you show me one more time on the next prey we find? I think I forgot something when I was hunting for that mouse." She meowed as they padded along the forest, searching and scenting for another piece of prey.

"Ok, I understand." she meowed. "Next prey we find, I will hunt it to show you, then you will try again. Deal?" She sniffed the air, disappointed to not smell much..

"Okay." She responded, she made her eyes go wide, in case Caribbean would do it randomly, and she wouldn't see it.

She purred as she saw the young apprentice do that. "Don't worry! I'll tell you when, there's nothing yet!"

"Okay, thanks." She replied as she relaxed,she smiled, I have the best mentor ever! I've seen others that are forceful to there apprentices. Silverpaw thought as she padded along side Caribbean, no sign of prey yet, where was all the prey?

"It's not quite greenleaf yet;" she meowed and gazed down at the apprentice. "We will have to wait for more prey, and now we must just be extra careful to catch some." She scented the air, and caught a whiff of squirrel!

Silverpaw scented the squirrel as well. It was close y, she got ready for Caribbean to do her hunting. Caribbean got in an hunting crouch, Silverpaw hid behind the bushes, just in case she would scare off the prey.

She signaled with her tail for Silverpaw to watch her, and she slowly stalked forwards, then leaped forth and killed the squirrel with one swift bite, and she walked back to her apprentice with it in her mouth.

She padded out from the bushes, "Now, I remember." She meowed with a smile. Silverpaw twitched her ears, hearing a scuffle in the ground, a mouse. Perfect, just what I needed. Silverpaw thought as she got into her hunting crouch, swiftly crawling forward, making no sound, just as her mentor had showed her. The mouse looked up, ready to run, but Silverpaw was to quick and pounced on the tiny mouse, giving it a killing nip on the neck.

"That's good," she meowed with a smile, and she heard the mouse as well but kept quiet. Nice hunting crouch; she thought as she watched her apprentice with pride. Then she saw her kill it nicely! "Great catch! I'm proud of you! You can have first pick of the fresh-kill pile!" she meowed and smiled.

"Thanks." Silverpaw replied, proud of doing it right. "So, will we be doing battle training today?" She asked Caribbean.

The she-cat turned towards her apprentice. "Would you like to do some battle training, Silverpaw? If you do, then we can jump right to it!" She smiled and looked around, hearing the birds chirping.
