Sagevine looked at his apprentice proudly. "I quite agree. You probably don't remember the Malum, because we fought them when I was an apprentice. All clans, including BloodClan, came together to defeat Rouge. Though she saw StarClan in the end, I do not know where her kits are, and that worries me," He explained.

Ooc: Hint hint, wink wink. I think that will be the next sort of big plot for the New Era once we get a couple more active players and the HPs are filled up. Klaus is Rouge's son, but she also had a daughter whose name I can't remember. Klaus is a good cat, so it won't be him XD But I was thinking they could do a Fire and Ice thing, driving a clan out of their territory.

He didn't feel like this was the right time to ask his own questions to the apprentice, better let her mentor handle that. Either way, the apprentice had done quite well, she was answering every question pretty much perfectly. "I think you'll make a great warrior, with all this knowledge!" He meowed.

He shrugged, looking at the other warrior. "I don't know, whenever he thinks I'm ready I suppose, he hasn't really said anything yet." He would like to have an apprentice, for sure, it would be fun to train another cat. "But thanks."

"I think you'd make a brilliant mentor, Pebblewhisker," Mistlpaw beamed genuinely. The three cats finally came upon the chasm-like stoney drop that ended in the sapphire blue water of the Lagoon. The young apprentice purred with excitement as her eyes marked the pathway down the cliff to the water's edge.

He was getting a little bit embarassed with all the praise from both cats, he wasn't used to it that much, and he just meowed, "Thanks.." He padded over to the ledge and looked down at the lagoon. "I'm happy it isn't frozen!" He meowed.

Sagevine nodded. "Unfrozen waters means full stomachs in the clan," He meowed, making his way down to the water. He could see a lot of rippling over the water's surface; the fish were definitely out.

Mistlpaw followed the warriors down to the water's edge and looked keenly into the rippling blue. He body and mind were in full hunting mode now as she stalked along the bank, her eyes tracking a large silver fish swimming parallel to her, oblivious of the danger she was in. The apprentice hesitated, sensibly assessing her next move, still in her hunting position.

He nodded. "Yes, it does." He was happy to see many fish, he'd have to come here alone later or with someone, and fish too. He didn't want to steal the spotlight from Mistlepaw, a fine thing it would be if he went fishing himself now and caught more fish than her. It would destroy her confidence, and he wouldn't dream of that. He looked at the apprentice, and gave her a nod when he saw the fish in the water.

Ooc: Snow? Oh, lucky. Here we just have a bit of snow, that's left from the last few snowfalls, but it hasn't snowed.

Sagevine sat near his apprentice, keeping sure to be slow and steady with his movements. He avoided letting his shadow go across the water; Mistlepaw looked deep in thought.

Mistlepaw's face burned with concentration. Her pupils followed the shining body of the fish as her mind made all the appropriate checks that she was doing it right: she had good footing, her shadow wasn't cast on the water, claws unsheathed, weight where it should be... pounce.
The kill was clean, fast; Mistlpaw shot her paws into the water and withdrew them instantly, hardly disturbing the water and dragging the stunned prey out with them. Her stable footing allowed her to keep a firm grasp on the flailing animal as she sank her sharp fangs into the back of the fish's neck until she heard a snap and it went stiff.
She backed off, panting, proud of her kill. Her one mess-up was a cut she'd gained on her hind paw from the rocks when she was dragging the fish from the lagoon, but she didn't draw attention to it.

He didn't notice the cut at all and instead was very impressed with her display, she had done well, Sagevine was rather lucky to have her as an apprentice. "Very nice, Mistlepaw!" He meowed. "Where did you learn to fish so well?" She may not have been clan-born, but she had skills that were better than some clan-born cats'.

Sagevine purred proudly. "Very good, Mistlepaw. You have been practicing on your own; I can tell. Wolfstar will be happy to hear this," He meowed. "We will have the medicine cat look at your paw when we get back. It isn't big, is it?" He asked her.

Ooc: Great news guys! Stormcloud and Sagevine are going to have kits! I don't have Kit's approval yet, but I want them to have four kits :3 I was thinking Larkpaw could mentor one of them, as well as Pebblewhisker ^.^

"Her paw?" He asked, looking at the apprentice and back to Sagevine, he hadn't noticed her cut her paw against the rocks. "But yes, I am sure that Wolfstar will be very impressed." He smiled.

Mistlepaw felt embarrassed about the fuss over her paw, "No, it's only a tiny cut, it should heal fine by itself."
She hauled the fish, which was about half the size of her, further onto the rocks behind the cats, gave her wounded paw a quick few licks to get it clean, and returned to the water. Her eyes were already trained on a second fish.

Ooc: Congratulations! (I don't know why I'm acting like you and Kit are having a baby ._.) Yeah, I'd love Mistlepaw to mentor, seeing as she's going to be made a warrior soon ;3

He gave her a nod and a smile, she seemed to be all right. Then he looked closer and he noticed that she was watching a second fish, and he was quiet, so that she would be able to catch the fish. "Good luck!" He whispered and smiled to them.

Sagevine chuckled when his apprentice got embarrassed about the cut. At least he knew she checked it. No matter how small one may think a wound is, it is always best to look at it and evaluate it. It may be worse than it feels.

He glanced to Sagevine, he was a good mentor and knew how to communicate and teach his apprentice properly. He hoped that if he could get one, he could be the same with him or her.

Mistlepaw continued to hunt, missing a fish here and there, but by the time she exhausted she had successfully caught two other fish. She piled them up on the rocks beside the water and set about drying her fur with her rough tongue.

"Good; I'm going to start my own hunting now. I've seen plenty," Sagevine meowed proudly before padding away towards another part of the lagoon.

"Yes, good job." He meowed with a nod and thought for a moment, looking at the lagoon. "See you in a bit, I'll fish here, keep Mistlepaw company." He padded around, looking for fish, and smiled.

Mistlepaw nodded her head to Sagevine and slumped down beside her pile of prey. She cleaned her fur and then set about thoroughly cleaning the cuut on her paw, making sure to get all the dirt and stones out. She could feel it was already repairing itself.

He waited for a while by the bank of the lagoon, and then finally put his paw in and caught a fish, bringing in onto the bank and placing it next to Mistlepaw's catches. "There we go." He said cheerfully and smiled.
