To the Campsite with me!!

Just to say, I'm heading to the Lake District for the weekend, so I won't be on for a while. I'll be back on the Monday, but a few days after that I'll probably be visiting my sister in University for a bit, so I'll be away for about three days then. Just a heads up, so you lot can prepare yourselves for the terrible period of time you'll have to survive without me ;3

Oh, I think we'll manage.. Hopefully.

Ghost Site ;) I did miss New Era whilst I was away, but there wasn't any internet. Besides, I spent most of my time kayaking and hiking anyway xD
And was it the horse riding thing you went on, Smoke?

Yep, now it's back to normal. :D I love hiking! And I do something similar to kayaking, I go canoeing!

Yeah, me too, they're probably my favorite things x3 We kayaked along the whole length of one of the lakes (which are huge;D) and then hiked across the hills back to the campsite. It was amazing because we were on the hills when the sun began to set, which was amazing x3
Where do you usually go to do this stuff?

Yeah, I went to a horse show where you ride horses and look fancy and stuff and compete with other riders. I had three classes, which is where we compete. I don't do barrel racing or anything, but I ride Western saddle.
I had one class on Saturday, and I was the only one in it. It wasn't my best performance, but because there wasn't anyone else, I got the blue ribbon.
The next day however, I was in my age group class and there was one other person. Armani's Star, my horse, didn't act up like he usually does and we got first place! You have no idea how happy I was! I'd never had another person in my class, and Armani always acted up!
The same day, I had another class. There was 3 in this one. I was going against two old-timers. One of them has been in that ring for longer than I've been alive! That guy is Tom, and he basically rides drunk. You can see him casually riding his horse with a drink in one hand and a cigar in the other. He's really cool though, and I was told that if anything happened, Tom would help me out in the ring.
The other guy I didn't really know, but I knew he was an old-timer. He was the one I somehow beat, and I got second place in that class! Everyone at my barn was really surprised, and so was I! X3
Off the topic of me, which I've spoken more than enough about, what was your favorite part of the camping trip? The kayaking sounds like a lot of fun, but so does the hiking :3

That sounds great, Smokey, well done! Whenever I entered a horse show (one time in total x3) I never did that well. My sister is more of the horsey type. I love your horse's name, by the way. It's super cool xD
I think the best part was the kayaking, but when we went during a storm. It was high winds and torrential rain, so it was more like a sea than a lake. But it was tons of funXD

Oh, I love it too! He isn't my horse, but I ride him as often as I can! His owner, Vic, actually looks like one of those old guys you find in, erm, not kid appropriate videos, but still, he's a really nice guy. And Armani is my horse's father's name, so his name is Armani's Star. His sister is named Armani's Valentine, and we actually met her at the show X3
Oh, I hate boating and surfing on the sea. My brother got us lost when we were stand-boarding a few years ago in Hawaii, and we went out like two miles into sea. When we finally got back (after multiple high tides unfortunately) we had to walk a mile with the huge board to where our stuff was D:

Awww, that's cute x3 I used to ride a horse called Roady (slightly less magnificent name) but he soon got too old and lame. The owners didn't get rid of him, though. He was great company for their other horses.
Yeah, it's not for everyone. I think even I'd be put off after what you went through x3 I love it though, stuff like that always gives me a thrill. Once me and my friend from school kayaked the ocean between the north-west-coast of Scotland over to the Isle of Lewis with a few others. It was really, REALLY hard, but the weather was perfect and we raised over £3,000 for charity x3

Well I live in area that's sorta desert-y, so I usually hike up on hills and go to many lakes. If I go North though, and sometimes I do, it gets more mountainous and forested. :)

That's awesome;) I love hiking in mountainous areas. It's usually a lot harder, but you get the best views there x3

Yes you totally do! Totally! I <3 hiking on mountains, the views are stunning! I especially like hiking on snowy mountains, I just find them nicer and then I can also go skiing! X3

I've actually never been proper skiing before, but I have been dog sledding, which was amazingly fun x3

Proper skiing is super fun. I wish I'll go do sledding! It seems really fun!

Yeah I will; me and my family might go to the Yukon, which is in the North of Canada and it has all sorts of stuff like that; that's where the gold rush was.

I will go on a dogsled.

Freaky coincidence, my class LITERALLY just finished learning about the Yukon gold rush in history O.O I've heard they do have a lot of dog sledding facilities there though, it would make sense seeing as dogs were used a lot during the gold rush :3

Wow, that is a pretty freaky coincidence. I learned about the gold rush in school like 2 years ago.. Yes, makes lots of sense. :3

Yeah, we had to learn a huge amount of British history (which unfortunately consists of a lot of kings and queens, which is REALLY boring) before we moved onto American history, so we just finished it xP
The place I went dogsledding in Scotland had a whole section of the building dedicated to the Yukon gold rush and the Alaskan diphtheria epidemic which was very interesting x3

Oh yeah that stuff is cool! I did a bit of British history, and I guess it is a bit boring haha. :3 Yesh, I believe Canada has a great history! :3

Yeah, we haven't done Canada much, but I've heard it's pretty interesting x3 We're doing medicine through time at the moment in history, which sounds super boring but it's actually pretty interesting xP

Well, right now school for me is done. Summer break! x3 Yeah, Canada is interesting.
