What would be the best/ or your favorite kind of rping?
Re: What kind do you like?
Meg, Kathryn Lasky wrote back to you? Wow! I have actually never written to an author before, instead I usually stalk the web for an interview of them. XD I have met only two authors in my lifetime. Sadly, they were not international bestselling ones like Kathryn Lasky, and instead just known in Australia. That is probably my closest brush of fame. :D

Re: What kind do you like?
Lol.
If you want I can type you the letter and show you what it said.
She didn't hand write or sign it, and it's a bit short and all, but it's still cool.
She either wrote it on a neat typewriter or on a computer with typewriter font.
I have a typewriter and it looks very much like typewriter writing but it's most likely from a computer.

Re: What kind do you like?
Did you guys KL just came out with a new Guardians book?
I went to the bookstore with my aunt yesterday.
And I saw it.
And freaked out.
I really need to keep up with KL's website.
I couldn't buy it at the store but I got it on my Kindle Fire this morning.
I'm so happy. :D
I seriously feel dumb for not knowing about it.
But I'm pretty sure it just came out a few days ago.
And guess who it's about?
Ezylryb is back!
:'D
I love that guy.
It's his back story!
Looky here.

I read part of it but I'm not done yet.
Okay so that letter I'll type it here.
Dear Megan,
I am sorry to be so long in responding to your letter. I am writing several books and I find I get behind on answering my mail and then have to catch up!
Thank you for telling me you enjoyed my books. That is the greatest compliment an author can receive.
At this time of year, I am thankful for readers like you. Keep reading!
Kathryn Lasky
She wrote that letter near the time of an American holiday, Thanksgiving.
That's why she wrote "At this time of year....".
I'm sure you have heard of it, Piglet, but I don't know much about what goes on in Australia, sorry.
I'm pretty sure you don't celebrate Thanksgiving though because it's a holiday related to when Pilgrims first moved here and had a feast of thanks with the Native Americans.
And I don't think there is anything about Australia in it.
But what do I know?
xP
Kathryn Lasky must have sticky spit.
That letter was hard to open. I had to rip the envelope almost to shreds. D:

Re: What kind do you like?
I am doing one of the longest quotes ever. ^^ Actually, people in Australia KNOW about it, but do not celebrate Thanksgiving....Well clearly we don't! There is nothing like Thanksgiving in Australia, though the closest thing I could compare it to is Australia day. ((Though amongst the country opinion is rather divided about celebrations of the day, as it was the day that the First Fleets from England arrived. For the original people of the land it is not a day of celebration. So you would probably be able to see the strongly divided opinion about this day.^^))megarin wrote:I think I died.

I could blabber on about the history of Australia, but I would being going off topic and into one of my infamous rants....I think I will just leave it as that.
A new book by Kathryn Lasky has come out? I have got a LOT of catching up to do. I have not read further than book eight yet. XD I don't know what is really with me, but I get really into a series and then my interests just....burns out. :D
I love the Guardians of Ga'Hoole, but I just haven't been....reading a lot lately. Actually, I am a really bookish person so it IS unusual for me to say that. I guess the reason being I have been getting overloaded with homework lately...:p

I don't know much about Australia.
;~;
Anyways....
You stopped at book eight?
Book nine is where it gets exciting.
It starts getting really cool.
Books 9 through 11 are books found in Ezylryb's hollow that recall the beginning of Hoole.
That's really cool but it might not be the most exciting.
But after that you get to the blue owls and King Coryn! It starts getting complex and really cool.
I really do need to re-read that series.
I say that all the time and start re-reading it.
Then I give up.
So I have re-read the first three books so many times that it makes me uninterested in reading them again.
But then I start thinking about the other books.
And I want to re-read it again.
But then I get bored and stop re-reading them
And then it's a circle of not reading. D:

I think that would mean I should just reread the whole series...... But I will have to find the
Waaay across on the other side of the world..... The summer holidays haven't even started yet. Currently, we are midway term three and still have another term and a half to battle through. XD

Not just the time, but the season, too.
So when you are on vacation and having time to be on all the time we'll be doing mid-term tests. xP

Re: What kind do you like?
Australia is always having the OPPOSITE seasons to America. For an example, while it is Summer where you are it is Winter here. But actually, it does not get very cold in Winter. Some parts of Australia CAN get rather cold, but it does not snow, only occasionally a bit of frost. Even the mountains (and I am talking of the mountains that are very high up) it does not usually snow. But some mountains do get snow every year in Winter......The type of weather you get depends where you are in Australia.
And I am in going off into another ramble...I have been doing this almost every post now. :D
Actually, it is more of the timezones that annoy me. In time, Australia is ahead of most of the rest the world. So we are usually almost a day ahead! And for most websites that I am on most of the people live in different parts of the world. So when I am online most of the members are already FAST asleep and I am usually the only one online. XD It is really lonely.

Re: What kind do you like?
I have been in 110*F weather.
And here the past few years the weather has been extreme.
First a huge ice storm that we still have damage from; then a few years later huge flooding and flash flooding; then three feet of snow, and droughts every summer. This summer instead of droughts we got floods.
In the middle of summer.
That never happens.
Ever.
Anyways I'm sure Australia is very hot in the summer.

Re: What kind do you like?
It can be VERY hot in Australia. In the inland, it is mostly just desert and the costal areas are the only places that are actually "green". From where I am, it still takes a good 3-4 hour drive to get into the "desert".
The summers can be just........ horrible. The times I have been overseas I have always envied Europe for having its lovely summers! :D Not very hot. (Well, I did visit Italy and remember it actually been rather hot, but certainly not as much as Australia.)
During summer, pretty much everywhere in Australia the degrees spike up. Some places are a lot more cooler than others, but the temperature is still certainly a lot more warmer. I think "warm" is a too little word actually! XD Last year it reached up to 48 degrees in Sydney. (This is not even a place in the desert, but right by the ocean!)
Most people complain about the heat. But not only do you get this heat, but it also very humid. And then you get the thunderstorms. I actually like the summer thunderstorms that we get, but then you have to deal with how humid it gets....It all evens up in the end.
I know what you mean about floods. In 2011 there were these horrible floods in Australia- and in the middle of summer! It rained for weeks on end, and non stop. Actually, it rained for probably ALL of the summer holiday. Yup. I was very annoyed.
I personally never have been to America..... [strike]But, judging by what I have seen in the movies it gets really hot. XD/strike] I cannot say that I have BEEN to America, so all I have to go off is books, movies, the news, and other people's experiences. Which I find can be reliable. (To a certain extent, at the very least.)

Although we do have one of the hottest places on earth in California, Death Valley.
That's a place I never want to go to. .-.
And you guys use Celsius, right? Here we use Fahrenheit.
That means your 48* is worth 118.40* here.
That's hot, dude.

Re: What kind do you like?
And I accidentally knocked it over.
And I stupidly tried to catch it.
And I cut my pinky open.
I was at the doctor's forever.
Four stitches later I'm still a little woozy.
It kind of hurts but they numbed it with cream. Then with freezing stuff. Then with a needle. Then with another needle.
It's hard to numb a pinky finger. .-.
My finger is starting to return feeling. It feels like a rock. :)
My first stitches. Yay.
How exciting.
Actually my most exciting day this whole summer.
Anyone think they had an exciting morning?
Lol. I'm playing with my finger trying to figure out how to make it not like a rock.
I'm too scared to look at the cut.
Or the stitches.
My mom says it was really deep and it's grossing me out.
I can't wait till the feeling returns and it hurts.
