Liath wagged her tail slightly.
"Of course," she said, "But we should share with the rest of the pack when we're done. I don't think it's healthy for two wolves to eat a deer by themselves, anyways. Maybe we should bring some to Rak and Brisgean when we are done. They're probably hungry."

" Of course. I'm sure they are hungry. We all know Rak gets grumpy when he doesn't have food in front of him." He said before tearing a leg off the deer.

Liath began stripping meat off of the deer's ribcage and began eating quietly.

Red fell asleep, though it seemed impossible.
Azar finished his leg. " I'll wait for you. Then we'll take the rest to Rak and Brisgean." He said.

"I'm finished," she barked. "Let's bring this thing over. Maybe we'll even let the trespassers eat a little."

Tarlio lay next to Red as she slept, but the loner himself couldn't drop off; not just because the den was cold and wet and miserable, his mind was looking ahead to the upcoming fight with deep anxiety. That and the fact that he was starving. He and Red hadn't eaten for days, and Tarlio doubted they'd be getting any food from this pack.

"It's not fair to weaken them before a fight while we strengthen ourselves," Liath propped part of the deer onto her own back as the two walked towards the den that the trespassers were being held in.

" That's true." he said as they arrived.
Rak got up and trotted over. " Its about times you got here! I'm starving!" he said.
Azar replied " Now, Rak. Don't be selfish and greedy and share with the prisoners. Give them a fair share too."

Tarlio's head lifted in his dazed, sleep deprived state as he heard the sounds of wolves talking and the smell of fresh meat wafted into the den. The Loner's pink tongue licked his lips as he anticipated the coming meal... If it was coming at all.

The sent of meat entered Red's dreams, or flashbacks. She had been in training to hunt, and the scent of meat was coming off of a deer. Her stomach growled and her eyes flew open. Only then, did she realize the meat scent was real. " Do you think some of that's for us?" she asked eagerly. Red felt as if any longer bones would be showing through her pelt, but of course that wasn't true. Her head poked out from under the roots, she noticed two knew wolves. There was one female wolf and one male wolf. The two wolves seemed incredibly strong, Red hoped they wouldn't have to fight them.

Azar's eyes went from Rak to the female prisoner. He gave Laith a bump " If you want a look at competition, you can see it right there." he said nodding towards the side of the tree where the wolfess's head could be seen.

"Hm. They look a lot different than pack wolves," Liath looked back again, "I whispered to Brisgean to let the prisoners eat a little when she and Rak were done."

Tarlio stayed a little further back than Red, but his keen ears still picked up what the stranger she-wolf had said to her friend. His tail wagged slightly with the anticipation of eating at last.

Rak must've sensed the fact that Azar and Laith were going to be fighting the prisoners, or word spread fast. " Good Luck." he said before adding " Not like you need it though." Rak began tearing into the meat, its blood covered his muzzle.

Azar chuckled a little bit before bumping Rak " Don't forget to share!" he said before looking at Laith.
"Are you ready to go?" he asked, his voice louder.

Liath looked back one last time.
"Yeah, let's go rest a little."

Brisgean began eating the deer, but as she did her eyes couldn't help but wander to the two wolves in the den behind her.
Even though she and Rak had only just began eating she tore off two smallish chucks of meat.
She threw them at the two wolves behind her.
"Just so you don't starve to death while me and Rak eat," she growled, "Don't get any ideas that we're being soft with you."

Azar sighed as they entered camp, he went straight to the entrance to the den. He laid stretched out, his eyes closed and he soon fell asleep.

After Rak finished he cleaned off the blood from his meal.

Red took small bites to enjoy her small portion of food

Tarlio bowed his head slightly to the old she-wolf, before bending down and taring at the hunk of meat, devouring it quickly.

Red was half way through her meal when Tarlio was finished. " That was foolish." She said rather roughly. " You should've eaten slowly. It's better to savor it, because the only thing you have. Plus your stomach might feel all twisted up later." She barked, her tone less rough.

"I'll be fine," Tarlio answered with a smile. But he knew she was right, he should have saved some if he wanted to be at the top of his game for the fight, which wouldn't be too long away. Pale, golden light was trickling into the prison now, suggesting to the loner wolves that evening was settling in and the fight was just around the corner.

Red rested In the faint sunlight. " I heard that those two wolves who brought the meat were going to fight us." She said, before adding " As of right now they are stronger than us."

Tarlio shifted nervously and gulped, knowing Red was right, but trying to hide his anxiety. "True," He answered eventually, "But... I still think we could win. No doubt they'll be arrogant in front of their pack, and arrogance makes a wolf careless in a fight."
Talrio was trying to convince himself as well as Red that these words were true. It wouldn't be long until someone came to collect them for the fight, and he didn't know how well he would fight; he was still hungry, and, though his battle with Oburoka was a while ago, some of the wounds he received from the great grey wolf's blows still hurt, and no doubt that some of these wounds would reopen in this scrap.
Suddenly, a deep, resonating howl erupted through the camp. Marcios, Tarlio guessed, was calling the pack together for the battle.

The black-pelted leader was standing proudly once again on the high rock as his pack streamed in from every side. Once they had all gathered, Marcios's booming voice dominated the packs excited chatter as he gave his commands.
"RAK! BRISGEAN! BRING OUT THE PRISONERS!"

Rak looked into the prison " you heard him. Let's get going." He growled. Red nodded and she pushed through the entrance.

Azar was standing in front of Marcios, looking as ferocious as ever.

Tarlio followed Red out, struggling to push past the roots of the tree. The two loners were lead out into the clearing where Tarlio saw what must have been the whole pack come to see them get torn to shreds.
But who is going to do the taring? Tarlio thought to himself grimly, before he spotted the golden-furred male wolf standing on the rocks bellow the leader, beside the grey she-wolf. Both these wolves were the ones that had brought him and Red food earlier that evening. Red was right. It was clear that these were the wolves the loner and his friend would have to fight.

Marcios grinned menacingly as the two loners stepped into the clearing. "Azar and Laith, to of my greatest and most loyal soldiers. Take to the ring. Test these two intruders, see, for all of your pack-mates, who is worthy!"

Azar dipped his head before stepping into the ring. Only then did you notice an old, large scare running from his neck to his check.

Reds ears pinned against her head, she stayed close to Tarlio as they were shoved into the ring by Rak.

Tarlio held himself tall and proud and rigid, his shoulders square, tail up and paws splayed outwards. He examined Azar with a critical, amber eye. The two males were certainly well matched in height, muscle and stature, thought Tarlio looked a lot less well kept from being away from a pack for so long. But apart from that, This pack wolf was certainly a fair opponent.
